Silver Lining is a 6 berth, 62ft cruiser style narrowboat, built in 2006 by Mike Christian. She is a very special boat that has been designed for disabled access and features a wider companion way and a hydraulic lift at the stern. The wide companion way means that the boat somehow feels wider than a standard narrowboat but without feeling like there is a compromise on living facilities. The hydraulic lift is a low platform by the rear steps with a removable ramp, and when not in use, it looks like a low flat step.
The interior of the boat features a saloon with chair and sofa bed, a galley with cooker and fridge, a walkthrough bathroom with bath and pump out toilet, a bedroom with a bed that can be used as a single with or without a foldable cot side, or it extends into a double, and there is a second bedroom at the stern with seating that converts to a double bed. This truly is a boat that offers something special to disabled or able bodied people alike.
