Get ready its festival time again!

The Blisworth Canal Partnership community is a non-profit organisation run by 8 directors working with local people who are passionate about the canal and waterways in their area and beyond.

Each year they hold a festival in August to raise funds to help pay for projects to enhance the canal environment.

The festival attracts 25,000 + visitors each year and with free entrance, free mooring and free parking you can see why it’s so popular.  Visitors last year summed up the festival with one word by describing it as AWESOME!

The little village of Blisworth really embraces the canal festival, with stallholders and exhibitors filling every open space.  The festival has only been going since 2009 but each year it grows bigger and better and so far has been blessed with great weather!

Pop along and soak up the atmosphere along the waterfront take a boat trip to Gayton Junction and back, or to the famous Blisworth Tunnel entrance.

The festival is the perfect place if you are new to boating or an experienced boater.  Mix and mingle with like-minded people and swap stories and advice.  You can really get a feel of the community and life on the canal system.

Stroll around the stalls and cross over the bridge to the festival field which will hold many attractions from boat trips, vintage caravans, live music, dog show, air rifle range, pony rides, fun fair, cars & tractors and much more, too many to mention!!  For full details visit their website

Don’t forget to visit the Royal Oak pub in the heart of the village enjoy a few drinks and some great pub grub.

On Sunday there will be ten gardens open in the village to admire and get inspiration from. (There is a small fee to enter the gardens)
