How Time Flies!

We thought we would have a look back at some of our You tube videos today.  It only seems like yesterday that we took the plunge and decided to start making some “helpful and interesting” videos for our subscribers.

As well as our website, blog and other social media platforms like Google Plus, Twitter and Facebook we have found using You Tube to share our experience and knowledge an enjoyable and useful way to connect with our customers.

The first video we did was about the “Narrowboat Engine” which has over 13,000 views (at date of this article) and some fantastic comments, so this video launched our channel.

Here and Now

So here we are 4 years later with 56 videos under our belt and 409 subscribers to the channel. We have to be honest and say that when we first started out we didn’t really know how popular the videos would become. They were just put together without much planning or thought.  We have learned as we have gone along, and due to the popularity of the channel we have decided that the channel requires a major makeover!

The Future

So what does the future hold? More interesting and useful videos of course. All put together with our new all singing all dancing camera with super-duper microphone.  The starring role will still be our Sales Manager Andy Robinson (note the different hair styles over the years!) with his young assistant Matt Emery behind the camera.

From the feedback kindly left by our subscribers we have decided that we need to time the recordings when the trains aren’t passing by our marina (if possible). To have an introduction, a middle and an end to the topics we are discussing and for the videos to be categorised into topics so it's easy to find related videos.

Our viewers have told us they like the range of topics we have covered; from clarifying mysteries to solving problems, so with this in mind there will be more videos like those added going forward in our new format.
