The idea of building a marina at the junction of the Grand Union and Oxford canals came to Tim Parker, Chairman of Black Price Holidays, some five years ago and the marina was built and completed three years ago and can accommodate about two hundred and twenty Narrowboats. Not only is it very well situated as far as the canal network is concerned, it is also easy to get to from the M40 and the M1, therefore making it extremely popular with moorers from near and far who come to venture onto the Warwickshire Ring, Oxford and all over the canal network.
Castle Marinas bought Wigrams Turn from Black Prince at the end of September 2006, and the Manager Brian Legge, Office Manager Trudi Tutt and all the experienced staff at Wigrams Turn are there to look after our moorers’ and welcome them to the site. We also have Whilton Marina on site who provide a brokerage service.
In December 2007 Castle Marinas also bought the nearby Ventnor Farm Marina and are operating that site with the same management team. Phase 2 of Ventnor Farm is brand new, having only opened in July last year, the whole marina having been created by Mr and Mrs Paul Flude.
An extension to Wigrams Turn was completed a little over a year ago, and we have a number of berths available at the moment. The marina is well planned and has all the facilities you would expect from a modern marina, toilet and shower block, laundry room, diesel, gas, pump out, Elsan disposal, coal and logs. We also offer servicing, maintenance and Boat Safety Certificates.
If you are interested in a mooring at Wigrams Turn, please contact Brian or Trudi on 01926 817175, or e-mail at napton@btconnect.com. We would be delighted to hear from you.
