Come and visit the Whilton Team at the show in the Kingfisher marquee.
The show will once again take place on the Grand Union Canal at the magnificent Crick Marina, (just off junction 18 of the M1) home to the event since 2000. The premier inland waterways show has something for everyone, whether you’re into boating, waterway life or just want to enjoy a great day out and will take place on the May Bank Holiday weekend, 24 to 26 May 2008.
Over 25,000 visitors enjoyed their time at last year’s show, which was organised on behalf of British Waterways South East by the award winning Richmond Event Management (REM).
Crick Marina owners have recently completed a marina expansion programme which means even more floating exhibition spaces will be available. Exhibition space is already proving extremely popular and selling faster than in previous years, with organisers expecting all space to be fully booked by mid-February. Over 280 exhibitors will be on display, including narrow boat builders and fitters, chandleries and canal societies, arts and crafts and leisure wear retailers from all over the UK and abroad. Crick Boat Show prides itself on not only being a fun day out, but also providing a useful service to newcomers to the waterways and those considering buying a boat. Amongst the full line up of seminars and talks throughout the weekend will be the tremendously popular 'Buying a Boat' presentation, as well as seminars on maintenance, boat safety, and much more. From toddlers to teenagers, kids will find plenty to do at Crick Boat Show with loads of fantastic, fun 'have-a-go' activities, including face painting by the London Narrowboat Project and bell-boating, a great on the water experience for children of all ages.
Back by popular demand in 2008 will be free boat trips along the canal. Always a favourite, this activity takes you into the tranquil waterways environment along the Leicester Arm of the Grand Union Canal at Crick before bringing you back in to the bustling show site.
Music lovers will also have plenty to keep them entertained at the annual Music@Crick festival, which takes place alongside Crick Boat Show and features an amazing variety of music styles throughout the weekend.
But if it’s more laid-back entertainment you’re after, you can chill out as you sample the 44 beers at the real ale “mini” festival in the popular Joshers Bar.
