Whilton 44 Narrowboats Arrive

Our first delivery of the new Whilton 44 narrowboats arrived last Thursday. Two boats were delivered by lorry and craned into the marina. These narrowboats were previously imported by East West Marine and are now being imported by Whilton Marina. Both narrowboats are 44ft in length and are painted dark blue with coach stripes and fenders included in the price. Both of these superb narrowboats are available for viewing at Whilton Marina and are priced at £49,950 which also includes a cruising starter pack.

Residential Mooring Available With Sale of These Narrowboats and Widebeam

A residential mooring is available with two of our sales narrowboats and a widebeam boat, subject to status & a mooring charge.

As we sell many boats each year and try to promise a mooring with each boat sold our moorings are constantly full, however we have limited availability at the moment and can offer these three boats a residential mooring with the sale.

Pyxis £59,950, 58ft traditional style narrowboat built by M&D in 2008

Leo £64,950, 62ft traditional style narrowboat, built by Roger Farenden in 2007

Belle Epoque, Reduced to £129,950, 60ft cruiser style widebeam, built by G&J Reeves in 2006

All of these boats are lying at Whilton Marina and can be viewed anytime during our opening hours.

What wildlife drama........

We are so lucky to have such a nice working environment with so much wildlife around the marina, despite being so close to the M1 motorway and main line railway. The drama unfolded rather out of the blue just now; Liz was just leaving the office in her car and nearly ran over three fluffy ducklings. She then realised that their mother was calling for them across the road. We soon realised that she had her nest over the five ft high wall in the garden area of the neighbouring carpet wharehouse. Nigel & Richard arrived & Richard helped the remaining five duckilngs over the wall to join the others and between the four of us we pratrolled them down the road and onto the slipway to the safety of the shallow water, mother quacking all the way. It was such a lovely sight to see. Once at the waters edge they all had a thirst quenching drink and mother paused brifley, checking that all her brood were with her before she made a move into the marina guiding them all the way. What Lucky Duckings!

Charles moves to Cosgrove Caravan Park

Charles left Whilton last week to work at our caravan park, which is Cosgrove Leisure Park in Cosgrove Village near Milton Keynes. We wish him all the best and hope he enjoys the challange of learning all over again! We are already missing him lots!!!!! Especially me as his mum (sorry Charlie) Toni has been heard to say on several occaisions "I miss Charlie and having a crack with him"

Anyway, since my last blog, lots has happened at Whilton Marina; Narrowboats Briony Rose, Teal, Ballads, A Waste of Time, French Holly, Eidelweiss, Golliepog & Briony Rose have been sold and another eight narrowboats are under offer. Narrowboat Otter has arrived at Whilton for sale she is a 50ft traditional style narrowboat built by Stowe Hill in 1985 and is priced at £24,950.

Narrowboat Melissa in Belgium

We have heard again from the new owners on narrowboat Melissa in Belgium. They have sent us these photographs of the boat being lifted into the river at Bruges. They say that they are having great fun on the boat and that they are getting lots of reaction to the narrowboat from people, as it's quite an unsual sighting to see an English canal boat on the river in Belgium.

Whilton Marina Entrance Bridge Re-Painted

Just a few things that are happening today at Whilton Marina.......

The iron footbridge over the marina entrance to the Grand Union canal is being re-painted in the traditional canal colours of white & black.

Sales Narrowboat Guenevere is out on the slipway having a hull blacking to help assist attract a buyer.

The ducks have given up looking for Nigel to feed them! Earlier in the week they kept waddling into our sales office quacking for food, which sounds really sweet until you look at the presents they leave!

We have several customers here looking at the sales narrowboats and Andy is wading his way through several pre purchase narrowboat survey reports.

Narrowboat Melissa reaches Belgium

Today we have heard from the new owners of narrowboat Melissa which we recently sold. They have had the boat delivered safely to Belgium. where they are planning to keep the boat on the river in Bruges for leisure purposes.

The buyers of Melissa specifically wanted an English canal boat and in their search went to France and Holland looking for one. Then they discovered our web site and made the trip accross to the UK to visit us. Where they found just the English narrowboat for them and bought Melissa from us.

Narrowboat Briony Rose Has Been Reduced

Narrowboat 'Briony Rose' has just been reduced from £54,950 to £49,950 and is very good value. So if your'e interested in this boat don't delay because the price reduction has been emailed out to our large database of prospective narrowboat purchasers and is sure to sell very quickly and we have already had several appointments made to view the boat!

Briony Rose is a 60 semi traditional style narrowboat built by Liverpool Boats in 2004, she had her hull surveyed in April and a hull blacking at the same time.

Good Value For Money Narrowboat

Patricia J has just been reduced in price from 34,950 to £29,950 and represents very good value. She is a 50ft traditional style narrowboat, built by Alchemy Boats in 2005. Powered by a Lister JP3 engine. The accomodation includes fully fitted galley, open plan saloon, bedroom with permanent double bed and bathroom with Thetford Cassette toilet, shower and vanity unit. The boat had a hull survey undertaken in May 2010, which was good with minor insurance issues brought up in the survey completed and hull blacked in May 2010. A new boat safety certificate is also included within the sale price.

Narrowboat Aconite is out of the water on our small slipway having it's hull blacked and new annodes fitted today. It's certainly a good day for hull blacking as will dry really quickly in the warm sunshine. Aconite is a 45ft semi traditional style boat built by Colecraft in 1999 priced at £29,950

Narrowboat Ceridwen £26,950 which is a 50ft traditional style built by Liverpool Boats in 1989 has just arrived at the marina on brokerage. It's a boat that we sold to it's current owner a few years ago.

Our marine engineers are very busy today getting several of the narrowboats ready for their new owners.

Robert is out this afternoon on a narrowboat viewing and Charles is covering at Wigrams Marina today and has been to view a narrowboat for a part exchange with a caravan which is for sale at our sister company Cosgrove Park
